Carr, Carol

(1938-2021) US fan and author, active in Fandom from the early 1960s (including participation in the "secret" APA Lilapa and articles in the Fanzines Innuendo, Lighthouse and Trap Door); married to Terry Carr from 1961 until his death in 1987; married from 2000 until her death to US fanzine publisher Robert Lichtman. She began to publish fiction of genre interest with "Look, You Think You've Got Troubles" in Orbit 5 (anth 1969) edited by Damon Knight; this comic treatment of an exasperated Jewish father whose daughter marries an Alien from Mars (see Race in SF) has been much anthologized. Her story output, though of high quality, was not large; almost all of her fiction is assembled, together with Poetry and selected nonfiction, as Carol Carr: The Collected Writings (coll 2013).
