Vane, Sutton

(1888-1963) UK poet and playwright, more widely published in the USA than the UK. His classic Posthumous Fantasy Outward Bound (play 1924; novel 1929) is set aboard a cruise ship whose passengers gradually realize they are en route to the Seat of Judgement – or is it all a Dream shared by two collaborators in a suicide pact? It was filmed twice, as Outward Bound (1930) and Between Two Worlds (1944). [BS]
