UK organization founded in 1969 by Vera Chapman and dedicated to the furtherance of interest in J R R Tolkien's life and works. Publications include an annual journal, Mallorn, a bimonthly newsletter, Amon Hen, and various special publications of value – e.g., Leaves from the Tree: J R R Tolkien's Shorter Fiction (1991) by Tom Shippey (1943-    ) et al, the proceedings of a 1989 workshop, and most notably Proceedings of the J R R Tolkien Centenary Conference 1992 (1995), ed Patricia Reynolds and Glen H GoodKnight, a special issue of Mallorn issued in collaboration with the Mythopoeic Society.
