Encyclopedia of Fantasy (1997)

(1962-    ) UK writer, resident in Bolivia since 1989, who prefers to be known by her surname only (although she has published academic papers as Alison Spedding). Her fiction consists of one long work, A Walk in the Dark: The Road and the Hills (1986), A Cloud Over Water (1988) and The Streets of the City (1988). Set in an Otherworld, it is a fantastication of the careers of Alexander the Great and his immediate successors. [DP]
