Encyclopedia of Fantasy (1997)

Working name of US fantasy/sf book-cover artist Rowena Morrill (1944-    ), whose paintings create cold, unsettling fantasy worlds with great precision of detail. She typically works in a combination of oils and acrylics, with a high-gloss glaze finish. Her training was in a soldiers' wives' art course on a US Army base. The Fantastic Art of Rowena (portfolio 1983) offers a selection of her work. [RT]
