Rocky Horror Show, The

Rock musical (1973) by Richard O'Brien (1942-    ), produced in London, New York (1975) and Paris (1984). Along with the movie version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) (which see for synopsis) it has enjoyed enormous cult popularity. The central emphasis of its spoofing assault on conventions is Technofantasy and Horror. Thing-Fish (1984) by Frank Zappa (1940-1993) is a scabrous Parody. [JC]
