A pattern of five objects placed at the corner and centre of a square. The Numerology of planting trees in such repeated patterns was a Maggot of Sir Thomas Browne (1605-1682), who discussed it in The Garden of Cyrus, or The Quincunciall, Lozenge or Net-work Plantations of the Ancients (1658).
