Encyclopedia of Fantasy (1997)
Mythopoeic Society

US organization founded 1967 by Glen H GoodKnight and devoted to fantasy, in particular the works of the Inklings. The MS has sponsored local branches and discussion groups across the USA. MS publications include the journal Mythlore (1969-current), the bulletin Mythprint (1968-current), and a sequence of fiction magazines: Mythril (1971-1980), Mythellany (1981-1987), and The Mythic Circle (1987-current).

Annual Mythopoeic Conferences (Mythcons) began in 1970. The Mythopoeic Awards were first presented at Mythcon 1971. [DB]
