Murphy, Warren B

(1933-    ) US writer, married to Molly Cochran, with whom he frequently writes, and known mainly for the long Destroyer sequence of action-oriented sf/fantasy/thrillers featuring a contemporary Avatar of Shiva the Destroyer whose Talents include the ability to fuse his corporal body with other forms of matter. These novels, many with WBM's initial collaborator, Richard Ben Sapir (1936-1987), begin with Created, the Destroyer (1971) with Sapir; nearly 100 titles had been published by 1995.
