Tagged: Author.

(1910-1984) Argentinian novelist who wrote the libretto (after his own novel) for the Opera Bomarzo (1967) by Alberto Ginastera, and in whose El unicornio (1965; trans Mary Fitton as The Wandering Unicorn 1982 Canada), Melusine tells of her passion for a young twelfth-century Knight, whom she follows to Jerusalem, before the tale ends in tears. The story is told with an aerated lightness from a twentieth-century perspective by the immortal Fairy, though it laments the Thinning of Europe into secular nation states. [JC]
