(1950-    ) US editor and writer who worked for Bantam Books before becoming editor (1986-1989) of Rod Serling's the Twilight Zone Magazine, where he tended to restrict his fantasy to tales ranging from Slick Fantasy through Dark Fantasy. His first novel was Nightshade * (1976) with his wife Beth Meacham (1951-    ), tied to the Weird Heroes sequence of fantasies. Down Town: A Fantasy (1985) with Viido Polikarpus (1946-    ), who also illustrated the book, is an Urban Fantasy whose young protagonist finds underneath New York an Otherworld called Down Town, whose evil ruler he defeats.
