Jackman, Stuart

(1922-2002) UK author, of fantasy interest for his extremely unusual series of Christian Fantasies: The Davidson Affair (1966), Slingshot (1974) and The Burning Men (1976). These set the story of the final days of Christ and of the Resurrection in modern Jerusalem, with Christ as the leader of what is essentially a terrorist gang. The storytelling has drive, and the power of SJ's perhaps unique premise makes the novels fascinating. [JG]
