Icarus

In Greek Myth, the son of Daedalus, imprisoned with him by King Minos. Daedalus devised Wings for their escape; Icarus flew too close to the Sun, his wings' waxen substrate melted, and he fell to his death in the sea – as recorded in the painting by Pieter Bruegel. [DRL]
