Household, Geoffrey

(1900-1988) UK writer whose best-known novel remains Rogue Male (1938); he wrote several sf novels. His fantasies, which tend to a certain carelessness of construction, included The Cats to Come (1975), about a future world run by Cats, The Sending (1980), a Supernatural Fiction involving murders, curses, Witchcraft and a protagonist who baulks at his Shaman status, and Summon the Bright Water (1981), which invokes Atlantis and its Wainscot descendants in the contemporary world.
