Hescox, Richard

(1949-    ) US fantasy illustrator, with a traditional painterly style inspired by Howard Pyle, N C Wyeth and Frank Frazetta. His first job was as a portrait painter in Disneyland. He went on to paint several covers for Marvel Comics' Savage Sword of Conan and Vampire Tales, and then covers for the publishers DAW. He has also provided artwork for the movies. [RT]
