Hahn, Mary Downing

(1937-    ) US writer who specializes in YA tales, mainly Supernatural Fiction. In Time of the Witch (1982) a Witch dangerously tempts the young female protagonist from a broken home with the fulfilment of her deepest Wishes. Wait Till Helen Comes (1986) is a Ghost Story. The Doll in the Garden (1989) is a Time-Travel tale whose protagonists gain access to the 19th century through a hedge which opens into a mysterious Garden. In Time for Andrew: A Ghost Story (1994) a young man Timeslips into 1910, exchanging bodies with his sick Double, who threatens not to return from the future. Look for Me by Moonlight (1995) features Vampires. [JC]
