Working name of UK writer James Ian Arbuthnot Frazer (1912-1966). His titles include Acorned Hog (1933) and A Shroud as Well as a Shirt (1935). Blow, Blow Your Trumpets (1945) is a Satire in which a Wonderland-style pre-Flood world is described at considerable length. Angels, who are not very clever, interfere constantly, passing on all sorts of undue technology to humans. Noah is a faithful husband in a culture full of pleasure palaces. A Demon-fomented war begins. God steps in, and determines that after his Flood there will be a general Thinning: Magic will no longer be permitted. [JC]
