Encyclopedia of Fantasy (1997)
Felitta, Frank de

(1921-2016) US writer of novels that tend to inhabit the borderlands between fantasy, Horror and Supernatural Fiction. His first novel, Audrey Rose (1975), remains his best-known; it was filmed as Audrey Rose (1977) – which Felitta coproduced and wrote – and sequelled by For Love of Audrey Rose (1982). Felitta also wrote the screenplay for the movie version of his next novel, The Entity (1978) – The Entity (1981). His other novels have been Golgotha Falls: An Assault on the Fourth Dimension (1984), a fantasy, and Funeral March of the Marionettes (1990 UK), which is horror. [JG]
