Bomba Movies

A series of 12 Jungle Movies starring Johnny Sheffield, who had played, alongside Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan, the part of Tarzan's adopted son Boy in eight of the Tarzan Movies; the character came from the Bomba the Jungle Boy series of 20 books published 1926-1938 under the house name Roy Rockwood. The movies were a rather too obvious cut-price attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the Tarzan series, and have more or less been forgotten: they are Bomba the Jungle Boy (1948), Bomba on Panther Island (1948), Bomba and the Hidden City (1949), Bomba and the Lost Volcano (1949), Bomba and the Elephant Stampede (1950), Bomba and the African Treasure (1951), Bomba and the Jungle Girl (1951), Bomba and the Lion Hunters (1951), Safari Drums (1953), The Golden Idol (1954), Killer Leopard (1954) and D of the Jungle (1955).
