(?   -    ) UK writer whose Smoke and Dragon YA fantasy sequence – Jet Smoke and Dragon Fire (1991), Into the Spiral (1992) and The Singing Bridge (1993) – is set in some isolated villages whose residents are kept from the rest of the world by a Dragon; whether they inhabit a prison or a Polder is a question which cannot be simply answered.
