(1913-1984) UK writer whose fantasy has been restricted to the Plantagenet Animal-Fantasy sequence – The Pig Plantagenet (1980) and Castle Crespin (1982) – featuring a pig named Plantagenet. The setting is 13th-century France. The forest is endangered by the lord of the château, who wishes to massacre the local family of boars. Plantagenet saves them; but they must now Quest for a safe place. [JC]
