Tagged: Theme.

The phrase used – in HIC IACET ARTHURUS, REX QUONDAM REX QUE FUTURUS – by Sir Thomas Malory in Le Morte Darthur (1485) to describe his own assertion that Arthur was not dead but only sleeping and would come again in Britain's hour of need. This Resurrection-myth has been applied to a number of famous national heroes (see Sleeper Under the Hill). The title was used famously by T H White. [MA]
